Class Action

On November 25, 2024, a class action was filed against McCain Foods Ltd, Cavendish Farms Ltd, Lamb Weston Holdings Inc, Lamb Weston Canada ULC, and J.R. Simplot Company, alleging that they conspired to fix, maintain, increase or control the price of Frozen Potato Products sold in Quebec since January 1, 2021. For the purposes of this class action, Frozen Potato Products are defined as French fries, hash browns, potato tots and other frozen potato products produced by the Defendants, among others, for retail sale or commercial distribution.

The class action seeks a judgment ordering to pay to class members an amount equivalent to the sum of revenues generated by the artificially inflated portion of the selling prices of Frozen Potato Products purchased in Quebec.

You are a member of the proposed class action if you purchased, in Québec, Frozen Potato Products on or after January 1, 2021.

On Novemeber 25, 2024, an Originating Application to Institute a Class Action was filed in the Québec Superior Court.

The class action is currently at the authorization stage.
