News

On November 1st, 2023, a class action was brought against Hino Motors, Ltd., Toyota Motor Corporation et Hino Motors Canada, Ltd.

Plaintiff alleges that those companies failed to comply with their legal and statutory obligations, notably by fraudulently manipulating the compliance tests of model years 2004 to 2021 vehicles inclusive, equipped with Hino brand diesel engines of models A05C, A09C, E13C, N04C, J05D, J05E or J08E sold in Canada, as a result of which these vehicles emit more pollutants and consume more fuel on the road than during compliance tests.

This class action concerns anyone who has purchased or leased, in Québec, a model years 2004 to 2021 vehicle inclusive, equipped with Hino brand diesel engines of models A05C, A09C, E13C, N04C, J05D, J05E or J08E. In particular, buyers or lessees of Hino brand vehicle models 155, 195, 238, 258, 268, 338, M series, L series and XL series from model years 2004 to 2021 are included in the group.
